At salvation, every believer is given the mind of Christ which should make him think and walk like Christ. However, the mind must be constantly renewed for the believer to exercise the mind of Christ. The believer must not be conformed to worldly standards. He must seek to always know the acceptable and perfect will of God through the transforming power of God's word and regular fervent prayers.

The Bible warns us against covetousness but admonishes us to earnestly covet the best spiritual gifts. The value of the soul of a man is not measured by the abundance of his material possessions. What shall it profit you if your purse of money is full and your heart is empty of grace? Everyone who labours to enrich himself with the material things of this life at the expense of his impoverished soul can best be described as a fool.

Those given to sinful pleasure are dead while they live: their love for pleasure outweighs their love for God. Life in this world, no matter how sweet, is only for a moment.

Eli was a priest of the Lord and he had two sons; Hophni and Phinehas who became vile because they were not trained in the ways of God. While the priest was busy serving the Lord, and ministering to the people his children were left to themselves. He failed in his responsibility to train them up in the ways of the Lord. Although he was faithful keeping the vineyards of others, he failed to keep his own vineyard - Songs of Solomon 1:6.

The mystery about the Rapture, unravelled by the Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul in our text was mentioned by the Lord Jesus Christ in John Chapter eleven, during an important conversation with Martha when He went to raise Lazarus from the dead. When Jesus spoke about the Rapture, neither Martha nor the disciples understood what He was talking about because it was still a mystery at that time.
