Key Text: Acts 1:25 KJV - That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
Children of God are called to walk circumspectly to escape the traps of the wicked one. Judas was one of the twelve disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, who was put in charge of the treasury. Obviously, he was saved. Sent with the other disciples, Judas went to preach the gospel to sinners. He dined and travelled every where with Jesus, so one wonders how Satan was able to enter into him.
The devil like a roaring lion walks about seeking whom he may devour. He found Judas loving the money he was keeping more than his Master who called him into the ministry. That was the undoing of Judas Iscariot. He eventually yielded to Satan's suggestion and betrayed his Master for money. Even Judas fell despite his closeness to the Lord, because he failed to resist the devil.
Jesus resisted the devil when he offered to give him all the kingdoms of this world if he would worship him. We should follow the example of our Lord in the face of satanic schemes. Like Judas, we may be tempted through whatever we are doing for the Lord. Be careful not to exalt your ministry above the owner of the work. If you are watchful and prayerful, the Lord will keep you from falling in the face of trials and temptations.
Prayer: O Lord, I acknowledge you as the owner of my life. Keep me from falling and let nothing take your place in my heart, in Jesus name. Amen.
Reflection: Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve - Luke 22:3.
