Are you born again? Christ has redeemed you from the curse of the law that the blessing of Abraham might be released upon you; and that you might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Activate your faith by declaring what the Lord has done in the face of the negative situations around you. Like Apostle Paul, always remember and talk about how and when the Lord delivered you from the hand of the enemy.

Men lie to cover up their shameful actions or to escape being punished for their wrong doing. You may cover your lies so that no man may know but you cannot hide them from God. The Word of God says all unrepentant liars shall not escape punishment in hell. It is the truth and not lies that makes a man free from deception and bondage. No matter how severe or threatening the consequence of your action may be, always speak the truth.

The children of Israel in the wilderness always forgot their great deliverance from Egyptian bondage and captivity, whenever they encountered a little problem. David praised God and was victorious but the children of Israel perished in the wilderness because of murmuring and complaining.

The man in our key text was in the same unpleasant situation for a long time - thirty-eight years. He believed that one day someone would be kind enough to help get him into the healing waters at the right time. However, when Jesus came by and asked if he would like to be healed, he failed to see that the Doctor of doctors had come to his help. His trust was not in God but in man.
