Key Text: Job 34:20 KJV - In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.
Since most deaths happen suddenly and in a moment, see then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise - Ephesians 5:15. It is only a few people, like one of the thieves on the cross that may have an opportunity to make their ways right with God, just before death. The majority of people die either accidentally or in their sleep, taken away without hand.
Although, the other thief crucified with Jesus knew he would die in a short while, he did not repent. Nobody has power over the last moment of their lives and yours could be any time from now. We all have a common enemy who is fighting hard to see that we die in sin. Unfortunately, he is succeeding in the lives of many. Please repent while you may.
Beloved, do not put off your salvation until the last minute. Now is the moment of salvation, the next minute may be too late. Every day people die accidentally and unprepared, at home, at work, while travelling and in other circumstances. They are cut off suddenly without any chance of making their ways right with God. We should therefore learn to spend every moment of our time with eternity in view. If you have not known the Lord Jesus, surrender your life to Him today and continue to follow Him for the rest of your life.
Prayer: O Lord, grant me the grace to give heed to your written word as I live my life with eternity in view, in Jesus name. Amen.
Reflection: They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave - Job 21:13.
