Key Text: 1 Thessalonians 2:12 KJV - That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
Joseph, in Potiphar's house, refused to commit immorality with his master's wife. Daniel, in Babylon did not defile himself with the portion of the king's food and drink. The Hebrew children declared their stand and walked worthy of God, even in a foreign country. The standard of God's word is the same everywhere and at all times.
The temptation to be like others can be very strong sometimes, especially when they are doing well and in the majority. But the counsel of the Lord is that you should neither follow a multitude to do evil nor speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment. If you are a believer, let your slogan be: others may but I cannot.
Hold fast to your Christian convictions wherever you may find yourself in this sinful world. Remember that the all-seeing eyes of the Lord are watching you. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil - Ephesians 5:15-16.
Prayer: O Lord, give me the grace to declare my stand as a Christian in every situation and at all times, in Jesus name. Amen.
Reflection: Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand - Philippians 4:5.
