To be like your heavenly Father, the Lord commands you to love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you. Remember that man was originally created in the image of God. Unfortunately, the power to overcome evil with good and all the virtues of godliness were lost as a result of the fall of man.

The reason why many are fainting and their heart failing in the journey of life is because they have not recognised the Lord as their portion in this world. He that has God as his portion has everything that is needed to live a peaceful life on earth. Therefore, seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  

It is a wise decision to build your house upon a rock because that house will be protected in the face of adverse weather conditions. Likewise, you are blessed when you obey the words of Jesus Christ because you will be protected from the attacks of the devil. Those who hear God's word but do not obey it are only deceiving themselves. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, ... - James 1:22.

The deliverance of Israel from Egyptian bondage was by God's mighty hand. Israel however, quickly forgot God's redemptive power demonstrated in Egypt: how the Lord spared their lives in the face of the ten terrible plagues that devastated the land of Egypt. They also forgot the miracle of crossing the red sea. Pharaoh and his army tried to cross the same sea but all perished by drowning. 

As physical food is for the body so is the word of God for the soul of man. Your diet is not balanced if all that you depend on for sustenance is food. Your soul will be malnourished and you will eventually die of hunger if you fail to feed on the words that come out of the mouth of God. What shall it profit a man, if he shall have enough food and lose his own soul for lack of spiritual nourishment.
