Key Text: Psalm 55:22 KJV - Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Beloved brethren, we are commanded to cast our burden upon the Lord who has promised to sustain us. Having created us to depend on Him, the Lord hates to see us attempting to carry our burdens because He knows that we do not have the capacity to do so. Disobedience to the express command from the Lord brings unbearable consequences. The only way to handle a burden is to take it to the Lord and leave it there.
The Lord has promised to direct our paths if we acknowledge Him, and cease to lean on our own understanding in the face of troubles or unpleasant circumstances. If we're still anxious for anything after we have prayed, it shows that we have not truly cast our burden on the Lord. Even the birds of the air that we are much better than, teach us that our heavenly Father sustains all that depend on Him - Matthew 6:26.
You are not wired for burden bearing so commit your burdens to the Lord and let Him deal with them for you. People die before their time for failing to trust the Lord. You cannot deal with the issues of life without the help of God - Joh 15:5. The Lord is faithful and is willing to meet you at every point of need if you will let Him. The Lord alone knows the way through the wilderness of life, so we must allow Him to have His way.
Prayer: Faithful Father, grant me the enabling grace to depend on you and to trust you for all my needs, in Jesus' name. Amen.
Reflection: Casting your care upon him; for he careth for you - 1 Peter 5:7.
