It is better to trust in the Lord than to put your confidence in man or princes. If you have God on your side, who can be against you? The Lord your God will defend and shield you from the arrows of the wicked. Put your confidence in the Lord, for He will never leave you nor forsake you. According to Jeremiah 17:5, you attract a curse from the Lord when you place your trust in man.

Every believer should therefore seek to have the mind of Christ.

However, every time they rejected God and worshipped strange gods, the hedge was broken and their enemies pursued and overpowered them. But whenever they repented and returned to the Lord, he always delivered them. That was a dangerous pattern which no believer should ever imitate. You should never take the grace of God for granted.

Joseph, in Potiphar's house, refused to commit immorality with his master's wife. Daniel, in Babylon did not defile himself with the portion of the king's food and drink. The Hebrew children declared their stand and walked worthy of God, even in a foreign country. The unchanging standard of God's word demands that we live right always and everywhere.
