Hannah was a sorrowful woman for a long time and she complained about her unpleasant situation of barrenness. She was provoked by her adversary to make her worry and weep over her condition. Until she prevailed in the place of in prayer, she remained a sorrowful woman. When she prayed earnestly, the Lord changed her complaint to acclaim. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

BE A COMMITTED FOLLOWER

Great multitudes followed Jesus as He preached the gospel of the kingdom and healed all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. Jesus, seeing the multitudes went up into a mountain, and it is interesting to note that only His disciples climbed up to meet Him there. The multitudes remained in the plains and in the valley. Are you a committed follower or just an ordinary follower?

WALK AS A CHRISTIAN

Are you a Christian? Be a Christian in deed and always. Although you are in the world, you are not of the world. Walk as one who has received Christ and has therefore become the temple of God. Walk by faith and not by sight. Let the Word of God direct your steps so that sin will not have dominion over your life. Walk triumphantly as one who has overcome the world in Christ.

WATCHING AND PRAYING

Shortly after the last supper, before going to mount Olives, Jesus revealed to his disciples that they would all forsake Him that night. Despite Peter's response in verses 33 and 35 of Matthew chapter 26, he both forsook and denied the Lord. False prophets, teachers and apostles are walking about like wolves in sheep's clothing seeking whom they may deceive. Brethren, you must watch and pray so that the day of the Lord does not come upon you unprepared.

KEEP THE FIRE BURNING

It is your responsibility to keep the fire burning continuously upon the altar of your heart by adding the wood of praise and prayer as you fellowship with God every day. The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out. However, if the fire has gone out, you can repair the broken altar today as Elijah did at mount Carmel. Where no wood is, the fire goeth out - Proverbs 26:20a.
