Fear is the absence of faith. And without faith it is impossible to please God. Having said, "Let us pass over unto the other side", Jesus expected His disciples to believe that they would arrive there safely. However, the Lord was disappointed because the disciples manifested fear in the face of a storm instead of trusting that they would get over to the other side. They did not believe that the Lord would do as He had said.

God is omnipotent - He is all-powerful. With God all things are possible and without Him we cannot do anything. There is nothing too hard for Him to do - He saves sinners, heals the sick, delivers the oppressed, raises the dead and sets the captives free. No matter how terrible your situation may be, you can trust Him for the solution. Take your eyes away from men because they cannot help you.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Christians draw strength, wisdom, knowledge and the understanding needed to deal with the issues of life from Jesus Christ. He is the vine while we are the branches.

The Tekoites were listed in the record of the names and order of those that repaired the ruined walls of Jerusalem with Nehemiah. Although their nobles were at the work site, they were not committed to the work. They wanted to take credit for a job that they did not do but the Lord saw their deception. Beloved, be sincere about your work at your place of secular employment or your service in the house of the Lord.
