The Lord is a shelter in the time of storm for those who trust in Him. Addressing the believer, the Lord said: "I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honour him" - Psalm 91:15b. There is no need to worry since God has promised to be with you in troublous times. He is a very present help in trouble. God is your defence and no weapon that is fashioned against you shall prosper.

Beware, Jesus says, "strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many I say unto you will seek to enter in, and shall not be able". The journey that leads into the kingdom of heaven begins at salvation followed by daily consecration. Although, the hope of every saved soul is to make heaven, unfortunately, many will be disappointed because they are travelling on the fast lane of life, otherwise called the broad way.

Every believer has a role to play in the building of the body of Christ. While some are called to move sand and cement with wheelbarrows, some are called to fetch water with buckets, and others are called to mix the mortar with shovel for the bricklayers who join the building blocks together with hand trowels. Whether you're gifted in the use of wheelbarrow, bucket, shovel or hand trowel, all are needed to construct the building.

The rich young ruler was a good man who observed the ten commandments from his youth, but it is sad to discover that he was not good enough for heaven. He was disqualified, because according to Jesus, he lacked one thing: he had no power over his material possessions. He failed the test of denying himself, taking up his cross and following the Lord. Although he was a good man, he was not saved.

The heart of the believer is tender and needs to be constantly watched over to avoid corruption and defilement. When God justifies a man, and makes him righteous at salvation, He also gives him the charge to keep himself pure. Failing in the responsibility to take away the things that have the capacity to defile a man will eventually result in eternal damnation. The believer is therefore expected to eschew evil and to abstain from all appearance of it.
