DO NOT ALTER YOUR BODY

It is foolishness to strive with your Maker. Broken pieces of pottery may strive with themselves, but the clay cannot argue with the potter about how it should be fashioned: "If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall intreat for him?" - 1 Samuel 2:25a. Like a lump of clay every man should allow the Potter to do whatever He pleases with them.

In the multitude of words you will find exaggeration, pride, hypocrisy, lying, slander, gossip, etc. To avoid talkativeness let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. There is a time to be silent, and a time to speak - Ecclesiastes 3:7b. Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding - Proverbs 17:28. May the Lord help us to know when to speak.

There are two contrary spiritual laws in operation and you are either under one regime or the other. They are the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus and the law of sin and death: the former sets one free from the latter. We are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus that the law of sin and death may no longer have dominion over us. This grace of God that brings salvation teaches us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.

In times like these when many are yielding to temptations, we have a solid assurance from God's word that Jesus is able to keep us from falling. If we cooperate with Him, the Lord will do all that is required to present us faultless before the presence of His glory. He is always there to help us overcome every temptation the devil brings our way.

THE POWER OF THE TRUTH

The knowledge of the truth gives boldness in the face of oppression and intimidation. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were not afraid of the threat of being cast into the burning fiery furnace, because they knew that God could deliver them. It was the knowledge of God's word that strengthened them at the hour of temptation: for He has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you.
