Unknown to Esther, God planted her in the King's palace for the deliverance of the Jews. And when the time came to play her role, the Lord used her Uncle, Mordecai to sound the alarm. You are not there by accident, but to fulfil destiny. The moment she realised her mission, Esther was determined to fulfil her ministry. She was not afraid to die and boldly declared: if I perish, I perish.

After you have been saved by grace through faith, you must continually prepare for the coming of the Lord, otherwise you cannot make it to heaven. The five foolish virgins did not realise that they did not have enough oil until their lamps went out while waiting for the bridegroom. They were not checking continually to see if they needed to top up. Watch and pray without ceasing as you prepare for the the sudden return of the Lord.

From the book of the generations of Adam recorded in Genesis chapter 5, men simply lived long, had children and died. They made no significant achievement during their long years of existence. Although the average life span of man in those days was over nine hundred years, Enoch lived for only three hundred and sixty-five years. His life was rather short but purposeful and significant. Unlike those that lived before him, he walked with God and made heaven at last.

Are you striving for fame, position, wealth and riches, or other great things in life? The counsel of the Lord is: seek them not, but seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto. If your goal in life is to acquire great things at the expense of your soul, you are of all men most miserable.

Living for Jesus means living the life that fulfils the purpose for which He came and died for. Jesus said, I am the light of the world; and in another verse of Scripture, He said that believers are the light of the world. He has promised that His followers shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. And it is having the light of life in you that makes you the light of the world - John 8:12.
