Because of the sin of Adam, every man is born into the world with inherited sin, apart from Jesus - the seed of the woman. And no one can cleanse himself from sin or help another man. Only Jesus can transform a sinner into a saint by cleansing them with His precious blood which was shed for many for the remission of sins. Jesus stands at the door of your heart, knocking, that you may let Him in.

You can avoid making Esau's mistake by comparing the long-range consequences of an action to its short-term satisfaction before you act. Esau acted rather rashly without diligently considering the consequences of selling his birthright to Jacob.

Many are being deceived to take pleasure in committing secret sin, forgetting that those who have gone before them are already in the depths of hell. Be not deceived, all your evil thoughts are loud enough in the ears of the Lord and they are punishable by Him except you repent. Be warned, there's an eye watching you.

The Word of God is infallible. Some people doubt the veracity of God's word when they compare references in the Old Testament with the words of Jesus in our key text. They support their ungodly retaliatory actions with the misinterpretation of these Scriptures: (Exodus 21:22-25; Leviticus 24:19-20; Deuteronomy 19:18-21). But these verses do not in any way support retaliation. The judges are to apply them to convicted persons while the law enforcement officers (not the victims) execute the court orders.

In the multitude of words you will find exaggeration, pride, hypocrisy, lying, slander, gossip, etc. To avoid talkativeness let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. There is a time to be silent, and a time to speak - Ecclesiastes 3:7b. Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding - Proverbs 17:28. May the Lord help us to know when to speak.
