PREPARE FOR HIS COMING

While the disciples who witnessed the ascension of Jesus Christ, stood gazing into heaven, they were informed by two angels, that the same Jesus will come back again. Since then, many deceivers have presented themselves to the world as Jesus. But we are expecting the same Jesus that ascended into heaven, to come back in like manner by descending from heaven to rapture his bride: "for the Lord himself shall descend from heaven ..." - 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.

THE TWO CONTRARY LAWS

There are two contrary spiritual laws in operation and you are either under one regime or the other. They are the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus and the law of sin and death: the former sets one free from the latter. We are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus that the law of sin and death may no longer have dominion over us. This grace of God that brings salvation teaches us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world -Titus 2:11.

 LIBERATED TO SERVE GOD

When God liberates a man from the bondage of sin and Satan, He does so for the man to serve Him in that liberty. We must be careful not to misuse the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, that we may not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage. We are liberated to serve one another in love and not to serve our flesh by doing whatever we please, not minding the effect it will have on other people.

YOUR WAYS ARE BEFORE GOD

Many are being deceived and take pleasure in committing secret sin, forgetting that sinners who have gone before them are already in the depths of hell. Be not deceived, all your evil thoughts are loud enough in the ears of the Lord and they are punishable by Him except you repent. Be warned, because the all-seeing eyes of God are watching you. You cannot hide anything from the Lord.

LET JESUS BE YOUR LORD

In our text for today's devotion, it is clear that Peter recognised the speaker as Lord, yet his response was contradictory. By answering, 'not so, Lord', Peter appears to be saying that he knows better than the Lord. But a slave should obey his Lord without question. Or shouldn't a servant carry out his Master's command without argument?
