THE SPIRIT OF JEZEBEL

Sep 26 2025

Key Text: Proverbs 7:26 KJV - For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

David was a valiant man: he killed a lion, a bear and Goliath without any sophisticated weapon. He was a prophet, a priest and a king yet the spirit of Jezebel cast him down and he was spiritually wounded. Reading the Psalms, and other records about David in the Bible, you will discover that he was very spiritual and close to God. So why did he fall? He yielded to the temptation presented by the spirit of Jezebel.

Like David many men of God are still being brought down by the same old spirit of Jezebel. This is the evil spirit behind fornication, adultery, lesbianism, homosexuality, masturbation and seduction which is still slaying many careless souls today. Be warned! The adulteress will hunt for the precious life to turn them into a piece of bread - Proverbs 6:26.

Whereas young Joseph overcame, the same spirit slew King David and Samson. You cannot overcome by your power or might, for by strength shall no man prevail – 1 Samuel 2:9b. Adhere to the warnings from the Word of God and let His fear rule your life. Joseph said: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? – Genesis 39:9b. To overcome this wicked spirit, you must submit yourself to obey the word of God always.

Prayer: O Lord, I pray for daily victory over every subtle temptation from the spirit of Jezebel, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Reflection: For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh - 2 Corinthians 10:3.
