Hannah was a sorrowful woman for a long time and she complained about her unpleasant situation of barrenness. She was provoked by her adversary to make her worry and weep over her condition. You attract a curse from the Lord when you place your trust in man: "... Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord" - Jeremiah 17:5.

Samson was anointed right from his mother's womb and he was used mightily of the Lord to deliver His people. However, he did not always walk in the Spirit, so he was overpowered by the lust of the eyes and the lust of the flesh. Sometimes he would yield to the Spirit to do God's will and at other times the flesh would take control of his life. While walking in the flesh, Samson chose to take a wife from the uncircumcised, and later began to go out with harlots.
