According to Jesus, believers are the light of the world because He dwells in them. But a believer will not have the expected influence in their little corner of the community if they fail to shine their light. Let your light so shine as commanded by the Lord. Light is stronger than darkness: no matter its thickness, darkness cannot comprehend the light of God in you. Let your moderation be known unto all men that the Lord brings your way.

The godly are those who continue to follow God after they have been saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Both the godly and the unjust are faced with suggestions to do evil and disobey God, at all times. Whereas, the ungodly are left to themselves, God helps the godly to choose to do good and obey Him. God knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations. He will never leave His own, neither will He forsake them.

Sometimes you feel or think that God has forgotten you, especially when it appears that your prayers are not being answered. But as a child of God you should remember that the Lord loves you more than a mother loves her sucking child, and has promised that He will never forget you. The heaven and the earth may pass away but the word of the Lord abides for ever and must surely come to pass.

Samson was anointed right from his mother's womb and he was used mightily of the Lord to deliver His people. However, he did not always walk in the Spirit, so he was overpowered by the lust of the eyes and the lust of the flesh. Sometimes he would yield to the Spirit to do God's will and at other times the flesh would take control of his life. While walking in the flesh, Samson chose to take a wife from the uncircumcised, and later began to go out with prostitutes.

The believers in the early Church exhibited true love and selflessness. Many of them sold their houses and lands and brought the proceeds for distribution to the brethren according to their need. These believers were not forced to give: there was no announcement given to that effect but as they saw the need among them, they gave liberally to meet those needs.
