There are many things calling for your attention in life but only one thing really matters the most. The most important thing is securing the assurance of spending eternity with God in heaven. After your education, what next? After getting married and raising a family, what next? After rising to the peak of your career, what next? Eventually death will come and your time on earth will expire, but where will you spend eternity? 

GET A DOUBLE PORTION

At the throne of grace we enjoy a double portion: God's forgiving mercy and His pardoning grace. Whereas, His grace has appeared to all men for personal appropriation, God's mercy is there for the asking. The Lord is always there to answer anyone that will dare to call upon Him in the time of trouble. He is a very present help in trouble - Psalm 46:1. There's always abundant pardon awaiting the penitent sinner.

From the book of the generations of Adam recorded in Genesis chapter five, men simply lived long, had children and died. They made no significant achievement during their long years of existence. Although the average life span of man in those days was over nine hundred years, Enoch lived for only three hundred and sixty-five years. His life was rather short but purposeful and significant. Unlike those that lived before him, he walked with God and made heaven at last.

Hannah was a sorrowful woman for a long time and she complained about her unpleasant situation of barrenness. She was provoked by her adversary to make her worry and weep over her condition. Until she prevailed in the place of in prayer, she remained a sorrowful woman. When she prayed earnestly, the Lord changed her complaint to acclaim. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

FORGIVE YOUR OFFENDERS

The principle of sowing and reaping is emphasised in various passages of the Scripture. The Lord expects us to have forgive those that trespass against us so that He will also forgive us when we sin against Him. But if we choose to harden our hearts and refuse to forgive our offenders, the Lord likewise will not forgive us when we plead for mercy because of our sins. Do not forget that you will always need God's forgiveness - 1 Kings 8:46.
