One of the reasons why we read, study and meditate on the word of God, is to arm ourselves for victory in the face of temptation. Every time Jesus was tempted either directly or indirectly by the devil, he overcame by speaking the written word. Learn to hide the Word of God in your heart, that you may have what to say in the hour of temptation. You must deliberately make out time to read and meditate on the word of God.

Small or big, every sin leads to destruction and death. The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The wages of sin is death. In His wisdom, the just and righteous God has determined to punish every sinner in hell fire, except they repent. The type of sin committed does not really matter; lying and murder will attract the same judgment - eternal destruction. Therefore, to escape the judgment of God, you must abstain from all appearance of evil.

The grace of God is misunderstood by many Christians and Bible teachers. Under grace believers are free from sin but not free to sin. The erroneous doctrine of eternal security stems from the teaching that once saved by grace, you are forever saved. But Demas who was once saved by grace, later backslid and lost his salvation because of the love of the world. We cannot take the grace of God for granted.

Beloved, the latter part of our key text says God has created all things including you, for his pleasure. What does it mean to please God? It simply means to believe him, giving him first place in everything that you do in life. This can only be achieved by believers who sincerely seek God to know him. When we truly know God, the Holy Spirit will help us to please him in all things.

At the throne of grace we enjoy a double portion: God's forgiving mercy and His pardoning grace. Whereas, His grace has appeared to all men for personal appropriation, God's mercy is there for the asking. The Lord is always there to answer anyone that will dare to call upon Him in the time of trouble. There's always abundant pardon awaiting the penitent sinner.
