Hannah was a sorrowful woman for a long time and she complained about her unpleasant situation of barrenness. She was provoked by her adversary to make her worry and weep over her condition. Until she learned to take her burden to the Lord in prayer, she remained a sorrowful woman. But when she prayed earnestly, the Lord changed her complaint to acclaim. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

The Lord was watching to see how the children of Israel would react to the temptations that befell them during their wilderness journey. He wanted to know if they truly loved Him. Almost all of them yielded to the temptations and therefore were not approved by the Lord to enter into the promised land. Those that were disapproved, all died in the wilderness.

God-given vision is a mental picture painted by the Lord to clarify the truth for man to understand. By the vision given to Peter, the barrier that hindered the preaching of the gospel to the Gentile world was broken. Vision gives boldness, drives away doubts and strengthens your belief. Much success was achieved by the early Church in its evangelistic outreach through visions. By vision, Ananias was emboldened to minister to Saul of Tarsus.

It is wonderful to know God's word but we are only blessed when we practice the Word. The knowledge of the truth alone will not make us free, but the doing of the truth. You are deceiving your own self when you do nothing with the knowledge of God's word, that you have. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God - Romans 10:17. But faith without works is dead. The Lord Jesus has commanded us to learn of Him by following His examples to do as He has done.

Because of the sin of Adam, every man is born into the world with inherited sin, apart from Jesus - the seed of the woman. And no one can cleanse himself from sin or help another man. Only Jesus can transform a sinner into a saint by cleansing them with His precious blood which was shed for many for the remission of sins. Jesus stands at the door of your heart, knocking, that you may let Him in.
