EVERLASTING SUFFERING

The scripture debunks annihilationism otherwise known as the doctrine of conditional immortality: the idea that a human soul is not immortal unless it is given eternal life. This satanic doctrine asserts that God will eventually destroy or annihilate the wicked, leaving only the righteous to live on in immortality. But the Bible teaches that all souls are immortal: "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into eternal life” - Matthew 25:46.

Eli was a priest of the Lord and he had two sons; Hophni and Phinehas who became vile because they were not trained. While the priest was busy serving the Lord, and ministering to the people his children were left to themselves. He failed in his responsibility to train them up in the way of the Lord. Although he was faithful keeping the vineyards of others, he failed to keep his own vineyard - Songs of Solomon 1:6.

OVERCOMING TEMPTATION

The devil cannot force sin down your throat if you are a believer. But what you do when he comes with temptation matters a great deal. Temptation is not sin and is common to all but yielding to it is sin. Therefore, to overcome, you must resist the devil by speaking the written word or disconnecting from the object of temptation. You must learn to walk in the Spirit and you will never fulfil the lust of the flesh.

ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR WEAKNESS

God likens the children of Israel to weak, defenceless worm, and has promised to help them. If you take away Christ from the Church, it also becomes weak and defenceless. Jesus, knowing the weakness of our frame said; for without me ye can do nothing. Christians draws strength, wisdom, knowledge and the understanding needed to deal with the issues of life from Jesus Christ. He is the vine while we are the branches.

God sent Jonah on an errand, but he rose up to flee from the presence of the Lord. And while running away from the presence of the Lord, he encountered the wrath of God. Although he knew that the Lord was angry with him, he delayed his repentance until he found himself in the belly of a fish. The Lord would have forgiven Jonah, if he repented in the ship. He would not have gone to spend three days in the belly of the fish.
