IT PAYS TO OBEY GOD

It was agreed that Prophet Samuel would meet up with King Saul and his men at Gilgal within seven days as they were waiting to engage the Philistines in a battle. As a priest Prophet Samuel was expected to offer sacrifice unto God in preparation for the battle. Unfortunately, just before Samuel showed up on the seventh day, Saul forced himself and offered the sacrifice when he saw the armies of Philistines advancing.

LIVING OUT THE WORD

It is wonderful to know God's word, but we are only blessed when we live out the Word. The knowledge of the truth alone will not make us free, but the doing of it. You are deceiving your own self when you do nothing with your knowledge of God's word. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God - Romans 10:17. But faith without works is dead. The Lord Jesus has commanded us to learn of Him by following His examples to do as He has done.

STRIVE TO ENTER HEAVEN

Beware, Jesus says, "strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many I say unto you will seek to enter in, and shall not be able". The journey that leads into the kingdom of heaven begins at salvation followed by daily consecration. Although, the hope of every saved soul is to make heaven, unfortunately, many will be disappointed because they are travelling on the fast lane of life, otherwise called the broad way.

JESUS HAS THE FINAL SAY

If Satan has the power, he will kill anyone who repents and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ. But glory be to God, all power in heaven and in earth belong to Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. Therefore, there is a limit to what Satan can do in your life. He does not have the final say in the issues and affairs of your life. Although he may afflict you, Satan cannot destroy you if you remain faithful to Jesus Christ, the source of all power.

DON'T GIVE UP THE FAITH

Blessed or happy are those who endure the persecutions that befall them because of their faith in Christ. Job lost all his children and all his possessions in one day but he neither sinned nor charged God foolishly. On a later date Job was also smitten with sore boils from the sole of his foot to his crown. Despite the foolish counsel given by his wife, to curse God and die, Job chose to retain his integrity and would not sin with his lips against the Lord.
