Bread Of Life - Ebirien Nte
When God liberates a man from the bondage of sin and Satan, He does so for the man to serve Him in that liberty. We must be careful not to misuse the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, that we may not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage. We are liberated to serve one another in love and not to serve our flesh by doing whatever we please, not minding the effect it will have on other people.

Many are being deceived and take pleasure in committing secret sin, forgetting that sinners who have gone before them are already in the depths of hell. Be not deceived, all your evil thoughts are loud enough in the ears of the Lord and they are punishable by Him except you repent. Be warned, because the all-seeing eyes of God are watching you. You cannot hide anything from the Lord.

In our text for today's devotion, it is clear that Peter recognised the speaker as Lord, yet his response was contradictory. By answering, 'not so, Lord', Peter appears to be saying that he knows better than the Lord. But a slave should obey his Lord without question. Or shouldn't a servant carry out his Master's command without argument?

Men may forget you but God will surely remember you. He will send help and deliver you in due time. Joseph requested the chief butler to remember and mention him to Pharaoh but he forgot until God created the situation that announced Joseph before Pharaoh. Learn to put your trust in the Lord. Like Joseph, you do not need the help of man for your God-given dreams to be fulfilled. You need God the Father, not a god-father.

Are you seeking fame, position, wealth and riches, or other great things that life offers? The counsel of the Lord is: seek them not, but seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. If your goal in life is to acquire great things at the expense of your soul, you are of all men most miserable - a man to be pitied.
