According to Jesus, believers are the light of the world because He dwells in them. But a believer will not have the expected influence in their little corner of the community if they fail to shine their light. Let your light shine as commanded by the Lord. Light is stronger than darkness: no matter its thickness, darkness cannot comprehend the light of God. Let your moderation be known unto all men that the Lord brings your way.

Samson was anointed right from his mother's womb, and he was used mightily of the Lord to deliver His people. However, he did not al-ways walk in the Spirit, so he was overpowered by the lust of the eyes and the lust of the flesh. Sometimes he would yield to the Spirit to do God's will and at other times the flesh would take control of his life. While walking in the flesh, Samson chose to take his wife from the uncircumcised, and later began to go out with prostitutes.

The works of the flesh will manifest wherever the flesh is in control. As you live in this body of clay, you will be tempted to indulge in the works or deeds of the flesh. Even Jesus was tempted by the devil, but glory be to God; He overcame. To overcome like Jesus, you must yield your body to Him with the strong determination to always obey God rather than men.

The Lord wants us to make the right choices in life. He commands us to prove all things and to test the spirits by His Word. The written word of God is given to guide us in the way we should go. Therefore, we should no more be children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive – Ephesians 4:14.

God sent Jonah on an errand, but he rose and fled from the presence of the Lord. In his attempt to run away from the presence of the Lord, he encountered the wrath of God. Although he knew that the Lord was angry with him, he delayed his repentance until he found himself in the belly of a fish. The Lord would have forgiven Jonah if he repented in the ship. He would not have gone to spend three days in the belly of the fish.
