The Tekoites were listed in the record of the names and order of those that repaired the ruined walls of Jerusalem with Nehemiah. Although their nobles were at the work site, they were not committed to the work. They wanted to take credit for a job that they did not do but the Lord saw their deception. Beloved, be sincere about your work at your place of secular employment or your service in the house of the Lord.

Godliness is profitable, and it pays to know and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. As a godly youth, Daniel resisted temptation, restrained his appetite and abstained from every appearance of evil. He purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself. The decision he made as a young man saw him through life as a godly prosperous man. Beware of the decisions you make today because of the farreaching consequences they will have in your life.

Beware of ungodly company. It always leads to death and therefore must be avoided. Those who support any ungodly fellowship are calling evil good and will certainly suffer the same punishment as those that are directly involved in evil practices and activities. For instance, there is no difference between those who take pleasure in watching pornographic films and those that acted or directed those films.

God likens the children of Israel to weak, defenceless worm, and has promised to help them. If you take away Christ from the Church, it also becomes weak and helpless. Jesus, knowing the weakness of our frame said; for without me ye can do nothing. Christians draw strength, wisdom, knowledge, and the understanding needed to deal with the issues of life from Jesus Christ. He is the vine while we are the branches.

The imagination of sinners is always vain and against God. Although, the Lord wanted them to multiply and fill the whole earth, the men of Babel imagined building a city and a tower that will reach unto heaven. By their rebellious imagination, they wanted to dwell together in Babel and not be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. Because they were self-willed, their deeds were evil, unacceptable and against the perfect will of God.
