O TASTE AND SEE

Sep 24 2019

Key Text: Psalm 34: 8 KJV - O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating. You can only judge the quality of something after you have tried, used, or experienced it. The goodness of God can be experienced by all who come to put their trust in Him. In this verse of Scripture, David declares: "blessed is the man that trusts in him (the Lord)" and challenges us to confirm the veracity of this statement.

When David sought the Lord, he was delivered from all his fears. And when he cried, the LORD heard him, and delivered him from all his troubles. David killed a bear and a lion, and defeated Goliath by simply trusting in the Lord. Unfortunately, many are trusting in the arm of flesh (themselves and other men). But "Vain is the help of man" and trusting in man attracts a curse from the Lord.

Instead of complaining and murmuring, you can trust God for something today by praying to Him like David. The first thing to trust God for, is the salvation of your soul: "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." - Romans 10:13. Once saved, you receive the power to trust Him for anything according to His will. There is nothing that is too hard for God to do.

Prayer: O Lord, I praise you for your goodness to the children of men. Give me grace to trust you for all my needs, in Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection: For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee - Psalm 86:5.
