GOD CAN DO IT AGAIN

Sep 23 2019

Key Text: Exodus 15:23 KJV - And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?

The deliverance of Israel from Egyptian bondage was with God's mighty hand. Israel however, quickly forgot God's redemptive and preserving power. The Lord spared their lives in the face of the ten terrible plagues that devastated the land of Egypt. They forgot the miracle of crossing the red sea. Pharaoh and his army tried to cross the same sea but all perished by drowning.

At Marah, Israel focused on their thirst rather than on the God who had proved himself faithful many times over. God expected Israel to acknowledge His presence, on their journey to the promised land but they disappointed Him. Israel failed to depend on God for sustenance. They murmured instead of praying to the Lord. They doubted God's ability to take them to Canaan as promised.

When you are in a difficult place, find courage and comfort by recalling all the times God has provided for you in the past, and give Him thanks. Then remind yourself that if God did it before, he can do it again. If you do not know Him, the same God that spared Israel and destroyed the Egyptians is calling you to believe on Jesus Christ today and be saved. He always provides, defends and fights for His own.

Prayer: Father, help me to remember your goodness and faithfulness, no matter what circumstances I may face today. Thank you for never forgetting about me, in Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection: And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you - Isaiah 46:4.
