Key Text: Ephesians 6:5 KJV - Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ.
Another two-way sacred relatioship is that between masters and servants. This also covers maid-mistress and employer-employee relationships. Servants are commanded to obey their masters: i) with fear and trembling as unto the Lord, ii) not with eyeservice, as menpleasers iii) but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.
Masters are commanded to do the same things unto them (servants), forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master (Jesus Christ) also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with Him. "To do the same things unto them", demands that masters should also serve their servants: Jesus demonstrated this when he stooped down to wash the feet of His disciples.
As a Christian, wherever you are employed to work, do it as unto the Lord. Christian employers should be different from their worldy counterparts: "... and their great ones exercise authority upon them. But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all" - Mark 10:42-44. Be careful, there is an eye watching you.
Prayer: Father, wherever and in whatever position I'm placed, help me to operate with fear and trembling, in Jesus name. Amen.
Reflection: And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men - Colossians 3:23.
