LOOKING UNTO JESUS

Jul 19 2019

Key Text: Isaiah 45:22 KJV - Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

What is having your attention, God or the unpleasant situation in your life? God commands us to look unto Him for salvation from sin, and deliverance from satanic oppression and all manner of sickness and disease. Your challenges are magnified when you set your focus on them. On the other hand, looking unto Jesus magnifies Him to reveal more of His majesty, power, glory and love. With your eyes on Jesus, you are sure to be victorious in the battles of life.

When Peter's focus was set on Jesus, he walked on the sea, but when he shifted it to the boisterous wind he began to sink. Why was Peter sinking in the presence of Jesus? Although he was with the Master of the wind, he chose to magnify the wind and fear was injected into his mind. Fear brings torment, therefore fix your focus on Jesus and grow your faith for deliverance, victory and dominion. Hallelujah!

Looking at an unpleasant situation magnifies it and keeps you in that situation. Only Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith can save you. Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face and your challenges will grow strangely dim and smaller in the light of His glory and grace. Brethren, learn to look unto Jesus Christ alone, and you are sure to find help in the time of need.

Prayer: O Lord, let nothing take my attention away from you, in Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection: But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me - Matthew 14:30.
