Key Text: Romans 12:2 KJV - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Christians are warned against following worldly examples and standards. They are not permitted to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. Others may tell lies, jest, gossip, embezzle funds, bear false witness, but genuine Christians are expected to be different. They are not allowed to join a multitude to do anything that will not bring glory to the name of the Lord and His kingdom.

To avoid being trapped by worldly attractions, Christians study the word of God and rely on the leading of the Holy Spirit. They avoid the broad way, striving against sin to enter heaven through the narrow gate. They pray always seeking to know God's in every situation. They are able to stand alone for whatever they believe to be right, no matter the consequences. They hate what God hates and love what He loves.

Here's the song of a non-conformist: Though no one joins me, still I will follow. Though no one joins me, still I will follow. Though no one joins me, still I will follow. No turning back, No turning back. His statement of commitment is: I have laid my hands on the plough, I cannot look back any more. He does not return to his own vomit nor go back to wallow in the mire from which he was washed.

Prayer: O Lord, deliver me from the traps of worldly attractions, in Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him - 1 John 2:15.
