THE ARMOUR OF FAITH

Feb 04 2019

Key Text: 1 Samuel 17:39 KJV - And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him.

David could not go to battle with the armour of Saul because he had not proved them. He recalled how he killed a lion and a bear in the past with the armour of faith. He believed that the same God that delivered him from the lion and the bear could do it again. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever.

Everyone encounters battles of various magnitudes in life, at one point or the other. Some are fought in private while others are done in public. Like David, you do not need borrowed armour for any battle. The same armour that brought you victory in your closet will do, despite the magnitude of the battle. You should never be intimidated by the size of the battle or that of the enemy. Simply put your trust in God.

Have you ever prayed, and God healed you of a headache? Remember to pray when faced with greater challenges. You should never go for the armour of Saul which you have not proven. Let the one who has never lost any battle fight for you. Faith in God will win the victory every time; for with God nothing shall be impossible. But you must know the Lord, to use the armour of faith profitably: for what shall it profit you, to gain physical victory and lose your own soul.

Prayer: No weapon that is formed against me shall prosper; and every tongue that rises against me in judgement is condemned, in Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection: For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed - Malachi 3:6.
