Believing As A Child

Sep 29 2017

Key Text: Mark 10:15 KJV - Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

What does it mean to receive the kingdom of God? It means to receive and believe in the teachings from God's word about His kingdom. These teachings are found in the Bible and are meant to prepare the soul for heaven. However, it is only those that receive the word of God as little children that can make it into heaven. Whereas, believers are commanded to be children in malice, they are commanded to be adults in understanding the things of God.

The following are some desirable childlike qualities which the Lord expects every sincere heaven bound seeker to manifest: 1) The humility of a little child; 2) The tender-heartedness of a little child; 3) The simplicity of a little child; 4) The openness of a little child; 5) The forgiveness of a little child.

Many are not teachable and are despising God's word because they think they are already mature. But you need to be transparently honest without hypocrisy, having the heart of a little child so that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ at Calvary will not be in vain in your life. Repent and become like a little child and the kingdom of heaven will be your portion in the end.

Prayer: O Lord, touch my heart and make it tender to become like that of a little child, in Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection: Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men - 1 Corinthians 14:20.
