Key Text: 1 Corinthians 7:29 KJV - But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;
You do not have much time to waste. It will not be long before your pilgrimage on earth comes to an end. Please permit me to ask: Where are your great grand parents? If they are still around then surely their parents would have gone. And one day it will be your turn to go. And as you know, both the young and the old die because death does not respect the law of averages. This world is not your home; you are here on a journey that will eventually come to an end.
Therefore, as you use this world, please don't abuse it because you will give God an account of how you spent your time on this side of eternity, in the end. Don't get trapped by the transient fashions of this world. Be not entangled with the affairs of this life but let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
A hundred years is not a long time compared to eternity, that is if you happen to live that long. Once again, be reminded that your time on earth is short. Surrender your life to Jesus today and live everyday in constant expectation of His coming. I pray that the Lord will give you understanding so that you are not caught off-guard at His coming.
Prayer: Dear Lord, remind me always that I am just a stranger in this world and help me to be ready when my time of departure comes, in Jesus name. Amen.
Reflection: So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom - Psalm 90:12.
