Dare To Be A Daniel

Apr 27 2017

Key Text: Daniel 6:10 KJV - Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

King Darius preferred Daniel above his co-ministers and was planning to make him the prime minister of the entire kingdom. However, due to envy, Daniel's colleagues sought to find an occasion against him; but there was no error or fault found in him. The king was later misled to sign a decree that prohibited citizens from praying to any God or man for thirty days, except the king. Their intention was to trap Daniel and eliminate him.

The decree did not stop Daniel from praying to God because he knew the source of his preservation, protection and promotion. He would rather obey God than the unrighteous decree of the king. He was not afraid of what man could do unto him. Daniel knew that spiritual death or loss of fellowship with God was worse than going to the den of lions.

Are you thinking of denying Christ because of that fiery trial or persecution? Dare to be a Daniel. He could have suspended his fellowship with God for a while to spare his life but he rejected the offer of deliverance that he might obtain a better resurrection. Hold fast to your Christian convictions wherever you may find yourself. The Lord will never leave you alone.

Prayer: O Lord, help me to face every trying situation without denying you, in Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection: Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin - Hebrews 12:4.
