Key Text: Proverbs 10:19 KJV - In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
In the multitude of words you will find exaggeration, pride, hypocrisy, lying, slander, gossip, etc. To avoid talkativeness let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. There is a time to keep silence, and a time to speak - Ecclesiastes 3:7b. Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding - Proverbs 17:28. May the Lord help us to know when to keep silence and when to speak.
Beloved, remember that the temptation to project self comes every now and then: wanting to be heard or seen as somebody important. The truth is: in the multitude of words there wanteth no sin. Now that you have known the truth, let this truth deliver you from the temptation to speak many words.
Be slow to speak and watch over your words. Let your words be few. Speak only when it is necessary to do so because you will be judged by your words.
Prayer: O Lord sanctify my tongue and deliver me from talkativeness, in Jesus name. Amen.
Reflection: For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned - Matthew 12:37.
