Consider Your Life

Apr 07 2017

Key Text: Deuteronomy 32:29 KJV - O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

After God had revealed to Israel the punishment that would befall them if they failed to obey His commandments, He expected them to be obedient. However, Israel took no heed to obey the Lord. They soon forgot the word of God and descended further into idolatry. Be warned, and avoid the deadly and devastating consequence of sin and backsliding. The Lord has no pleasure in the death of the wicked, so live as one that can be called home at any time.

It is clear that many people continue to live in sin today because they fail to consider where they would spend eternity. The Omniscient God calls everyone to be wise, to understand and consider that they have a never-dying soul that will end up either in hell or heaven. Such sincere consideration should lead every sinner to repentance.

The Lord is such a merciful God and it is not His will that any man should perish but that all should come to repentance. Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end - Proverbs 19:20. Brethren, consider your daily life as you live on this side of eternity. Time is short and your life is brief: surrender your life to Jesus today and He will give you the power to live above sin.

Prayer: O Lord, I know that I will not always be here on earth, therefore help me to prepare for my exit, in Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection: So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom - Psalm 90:12.
