Tongue of The Learned

Mar 29 2017

Key Text: Proverbs 16:23 KJV - The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.

When a man through the study of the scriptures comes to the knowledge of the truth, it makes him wise unto salvation. From that point he begins to speak wisdom out of the abundance of God's word hidden in his heart. The Lord also gives him the tongue of the learned that he may know how to both speak and answer every man. Every true child of God should therefore have a soft, wholesome and tamed tongue to speak edifying and encouraging words.

Although a Christian, if you are still lying, swearing and cursing, it is time to seek the Lord for the tongue of the learned. To speak edifying words leading to salvation, deliverance, healing, and encouragement, you need to cooperate with God and bridle your tongue so that no corrupt communication will proceed out of your mouth.

Let us follow the example of our Master, Jesus Christ. He spoke as He heard from His Father; "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge:" - John 5:30. We can receive the tongue of the learned by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Hear, read and study His Word in season and out of season. Without Jesus, no amount of learning will transform your speech. Surrender your life to Jesus today.

Prayer: O Lord, teach me that I may know how to both speak and answer every man according to your word, in Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection: But ye have not so learned Christ - Ephesians 4:20.
