Key Text: Job 21:13 KJV - They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.
Since most deaths happen suddenly and in a moment, see then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil - Ephesians 5:15,16. It is only a few people, like one of the thieves on the cross that may have an opportunity to make their ways right with God, just before death. The majority of people die either accidentally or in their sleep, taken away unexpectedly.
Although, the other thief crucified with Jesus knew he would die in a short while, he could not repent. Nobody has power over the last minute of their lives and who knows when his last minute will come. We all have a common enemy who is fighting hard to see that we die in sin. Unfortunately, he is succeeding in the lives of many. Please repent while you may.
Beloved, do not put off your salvation until the last minute. Now is the moment of salvation, the next minute may be too late. A lot of people who left their houses in the morning for work or business ended up in the morgue as corpses. They never knew that they would not return home to their families alive. Learn to spend every minute of your life with eternity in view.
Prayer: O Lord, grant me the grace to be thoughtful in all things and to do nothing rashly, in Jesus name. Amen.
Reflection: So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom - Psalm 90:12.
