One Day At A Time

Mar 20 2017

Key Text: Matthew 6:34 KJV - Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Let us learn to live one day at a time. The thought of tomorrow: what to eat, drink or wear has cut short the lives of many people. It leads to anxiety and worry which can result in stress, hypertension and sometimes even death. Do not worry, tomorrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Worrying about tomorrow is pointless because you may not live to see it afterall. God supplies His children with daily grace. The grace to face the challenges of tomorrow will be provided at the right time.

Commit your ways (even your tomorrow) unto the Lord and He will direct your paths. If we strive to know God who alone knows tomorrow, we will not have to worry about tomorrow any more. Be careful or anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Why worry about tomorrow when you can pray? Just trust in Jesus and He will see you through. You may plan for tomorrow but let not your heart be troubled with worry and anxiety. The God that fed the Israelites with manna for forty years in the wilderness will surely provide your daily needs. He is the same God that commanded the ravens to feed Elijah with bread and flesh at the brook Cherith - 1 Kings 17:4. Hallelujah!

Prayer: O Lord, I know that you are there for me always, therefore I will not worry about tomorrow, in Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection: Give us this day our daily bread - Matthew 6:11.
