THE DECEITFULNESS OF SIN

Mar 30 2026

Key Text: Hebrews 3:13 KJV - But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Sin deceives; therefore, it is needful to remind ourselves daily about the warnings in the Scriptures and remain watchful. We cannot afford to be careless with our Christian life because many in the past and in contemporary times have been and are still being deceived out of the straight and narrow way. Be not deceived: the wages of sin is death and whatsoever a man sows that shall he also reap. A little sin has the power to damn your soul in hell.

Whenever somebody falls into temptation, he has just been deceived by Satan through the lust of the flesh, or the lust of the eyes, or the pride of life. He has failed to remember that a man shall reap whatsoever he has sown. Let us learn from Gehazi, David, Solomon, Uzziah, Judas, Demas and many others who were deceived by sin even though they knew God. Be warned!

God's standard will never be lowered for anyone because He is not a respecter of persons. The sins found in the lives of the men mentioned above are still sin today. Examine your life and repent of every sin in your life. The soul that continues in sin shall perish. The Lord is calling you to repentance and promises to keep you from falling if you let Him do it. Repent now because tomorrow may be too late.

Prayer: O Lord, keep me from falling, whenever I am tempted to sin, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Reflection: Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel - Proverbs 20:17.
