THE WORTH OF YOUR SOUL

Nov 11 2025

Key Text: Mark 8:36 KJV - For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Many people do not seem to understand that worldly gain profits nothing. That explains why a man can do anything for material gain, at the expense of his never-dying soul. Your soul is so important to God and nothing will be accepted in exchange for it. There is no middle ground between the world and your soul: you either gain or lose one of them, depending on your choice.

If you have ever attended the funeral of a rich man, you would have noticed that he was not buried along with his money, fleet of cars, or other worldly possessions. All that would not fit into his coffin; not even his grave would accommodate them. The word of God affirms: "For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out" - 1 Timothy 6:7.

Your soul is more valuable than everything in the whole world. Sooner or later, all your possessions will be left behind, when you die. Do not be deceived like the rich fool who laid up much treasure for himself and was not rich towards God. Are you seeking great things for yourself? Seek them not: but seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Prayer: O Lord, give me the grace to live with eternity in view, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Reflection: And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither - Job 1:21a.
