YOU DON'T NEED A GOD-FATHER

Oct 21 2025

Key Text : Genesis 40:23 KJV - Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him.

Men may forget you but God will surely remember you. He will send help and deliver you in due time. Joseph requested the chief butler to remember and mention him to Pharaoh but he forgot until God created the situation that announced Joseph before Pharaoh. Learn to put your trust in the Lord. Like Joseph, you do not need the help of man for your God-given dreams to be fulfilled. You need God the Father, not a god-father.

Vain is the help of man. Trusting in man or the arm of flesh attracts a curse which could result in unnecessary delays - Jeremiah 17:5. David understood this when he said; my help comes from the Lord. Who would have thought that Joseph would remain in the prison more than a few days after obtaining the right connection to the King? But he continued there for another two full years. The chief butler forgot to mention him to Pharaoh as requested.

Your help, promotion, deliverance, and judgment comes from the Lord. He remembers and fulfils His promises. Unfortunately, contrary to the counsel of the Lord, many are still putting their trust in man, leading to undue suffering and disappointments. Men may forget to fulfil their promises but God never forgets to make good his promises. Try Jesus, the man of Galilee: He does whatever He says He will do.

Prayer: O Lord, help me to be patient, as I wait for the performance of your promises, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Reflection: Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee - Isaiah 49:15.
