THE LORD CAN DO IT AGAIN

May 22 2025

Key Text: Exodus 15:23 KJV - And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?

The deliverance of Israel from Egyptian bondage was by God's mighty hand. Israel however, quickly forgot God's redemptive power demonstrated in Egypt: how the Lord spared their lives in the face of the ten terrible plagues that devastated the land of Egypt. They also forgot the miracle of crossing the red sea. Pharaoh and his army tried to cross the same sea but all perished by drowning.

At Marah, Israel focused on their thirst instead of trusting the Lord who had proved himself faithful many times over. God expected Israel to acknowledge His presence while they journeyed to the promised land but they disappointed Him. Israel failed to depend on God for sustenance. They murmured instead of praying to the Lord. They doubted God's ability to take them to Canaan as promised.

Whenever you find yourself in a difficult situation, always remember how the Lord has helped you in the past, and give Him thanks. Be encouraged, if God has done it before, he can do it again. If you do not know Him, the same God that spared Israel and destroyed the Egyptians is calling you to believe on Jesus Christ today and be saved. He always provides, defends and fights for His own.

Prayer: Father, help me to remember your goodness and faithfulness at all times. Thank you for being there for me always, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Reflection: And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you - Isaiah 46:4.
