Key Text: Philippians 3:14 KJV - "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
There is a finishing line that must be crossed for the believer to receive the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Unlike the earthly, the heavenly race is not a competition, therefore everyone that crosses the finishing line wins the race. Runners in the heavenly race encounter a lot of hindrances and distracting circumstances occasioned by the devil. Therefore, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.
We should not be ignorant of the devices of the devil who is against all that are determined to hold out till the end. Sometimes, the devil may use discouragement, hardship, sickness, frustration, poverty, or any other thing to divert your attention but you must endeavour to have your affection set on heaven. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution - 2 Timothy 3:12.
Many are falling away from the race but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Remember the promises of God and make up your mind never to give up or deny the Lord whenever you encounter problems in the race of life. If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us - 2 Timothy 2:12. He has promised to be with you in trouble. He will never leave you, nor forsake.
Prayer: Thank you Father for strengthening me. I shall cross the finishing line and receive the crown of life, in Jesus' name. Amen.
Reflection: Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain - 1 Corinthians 9:24.
