DO NOT ALTER YOUR BODY

Apr 10 2025

Key Text: Isaiah 45:9 KJV - Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?

It is foolishness to strive with your Maker. Broken pieces of pottery may strive with themselves, but the clay cannot argue with the potter about how it should be fashioned: "If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall intreat for him?" - 1 Samuel 2:25a. Like a lump of clay every man should allow the Potter to do whatever He pleases with them.

O wretched man! When will you realise your folly and return to the Lord in genuine repentance? Do you not know that you are striving with your Maker by altering His design? Nobody has the right to pierce or tattoo their body: if they were necessary the Lord would have provided them when He made you. If you have been created black, there is no point bleaching your skin to look different.

The Lord has done all things well, including the fashioning of the human body. The judgment of woe has been passed already upon all that strive with their Maker: "The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God" - Psalm 9:17. But there is forgiveness with God through Jesus Christ, for anyone who comes to himself and cries out unto the Lord for mercy.

Prayer: O Lord, I acknowledge you as my Maker. Do with me as it pleases you, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Reflection: But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. - 1 Corinthians 12:18.
