Key Text: Acts 16:25 KJV - And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
God allowed Paul and Silas to be cast into the prison so that He will be glorified there. He wanted the prisoners to hear the message that will set them free from the bondage of sin. Because Jesus was anointed to preach deliverance to the captives, His disciples should do the same. By their prayer and songs of praise, Paul and Silas announced the power of the Almighty God, and every one's bands were loosed.
Wherever you find yourself, even if you are being held unjustly, God has allowed it for His name to be glorified. When Joseph was unjustly cast into the prison by His master, Potiphar, the presence of the Lord went with him. Joseph took His God-given ministry to the prison and interpreted the dreams of Pharaoh's officers. Do not allow any situation to hinder your evangelistic ministry.
Because the three Hebrew children glorified God in their situation, He delivered them out of the fiery furnace of King Nebuchadnezzar. Do not be ashamed or afraid to talk about the faithfulness of the Lord. The gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes. But how can they believe except they hear the message. May the Lord use you to lift up Jesus everywhere you go.
Prayer: O Lord, help me to seize every opportunity to shine forth the light of God by the preaching of the gospel, in Jesus' name. Amen.
Reflection: And there they preached the gospel - Acts 14:7.
