Key Text: Daniel 6:28 KJV - So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
Godliness is profitable, and it pays to know and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. As a godly youth, Daniel resisted temptation, restrained his appetite and abstained from every appearance of evil. He purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself. The decision he made as a young man saw him through life as a godly prosperous man. Beware of the decisions you make today because of the far-reaching consequences they will have in your life.
By choosing to live a godly life among an idolatrous people, Daniel excelled above his colleagues and prospered exceedingly in the kingdoms of Babylon and Persia. Joseph chose to live a godly life and eventually became the Prime Minister of Egypt. The God of Daniel and Joseph has not changed and He still rewards godliness today - Malachi 3:6.
The Lord will make a way for you to prosper in the land where you are, if you choose to live a holy life by shunning the wrong and doing that which is right, no matter the cost. There is no scarcity in the Kingdom of heaven. As you begin to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world, the unchanging God will surely meet you at every point of need. However, if you have not known the Lord, surrender your life to Jesus today and receive the grace to live godly.
Prayer: O Lord, strengthen my inner man for godliness in this ungodly world, in Jesus' name. Amen.
Reflection: But godliness with contentment is great gain - 1 Timothy 6:6.
