Key Text: Isaiah 49:15 KJV - Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
Sometimes you feel or think that God has forgotten you, especially when it appears that your prayers are not being answered. But at such times you should remind yourself that the Lord loves you more than a mother loves her sucking child, and has promised that He will never forget you. The heaven and the earth may pass away but the word of the Lord abides for ever and will surely come to pass.
You are not alone in that situation, even if God seems to be silent. He is a covenant keeping God who will always do what He has promised in His word. The Lord will never leave you, neither will He forsake you. You may not see or hear Him but He is always there with you. Only believe what He has promised: all things are possible to Him that believes. He delights in those who practise the art of believing His never-failing word.
Jesus said: I am with you always, even to the end of the world. There is no need to worry, even when the mountain appears to be standing strong, after you have prayed. At such a time, you should trust the Lord more, knowing that He is looking to see what you will do next. Be calm and confident, for you have need of patience, that after you have done the will of God, you might receive the promise - Hebrews 10:36.
Prayer: O Lord, in every situation help me to remember that you are always there with me, in Jesus' name. Amen.
Reflection: He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him - Psalm 91:15.
