Key Text: 2 Timothy 1:9 KJV - Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
Everyone born into this world has a specific assignment to accomplish. When you become born again, it is your responsibility to find out what you are called to do - God's purpose for your life. That is your calling and primary assignment from the Lord. Jesus said, "To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, ..." - John 18:37b. Why were you born?
The earlier you discover your calling and endeavour to fulfil it, the better. Like Jesus, you should be determined to do the works of Him that sent you, while it is day because of the impending night when no man can work - John 9:4. There will not always be time, so seek God to find out why He sent you to the earth. You are not here just to do secular work, raise family and die.
God's purpose for your life can only be discovered and fulfilled when you begin and continue to walk with Him for the rest of your life. Enoch discovered his ministry at the age of 65, and he continued in it for 300 years leading to his translation and rapture. Unbelievers and backsliders must first repent and surrender their lives to Jesus Christ. If you are born again, you must not rest until you discover and strive to finish your God-appointed ministry.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to discover your sacred calling upon my life and give me the grace to fulfil it, in Jesus' name. Amen.
Reflection: Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work - John 4:34.
